Designed for non-Sky customers, mostly those with Freeview, Now TV launched back in 2012 but Sky is pushing on with both a new media streaming box and the best value way of getting Sky Sports on Now TV to date.

Stephen van Rooyen, chief marketing & digital officer at Sky said:  "Now TV has established real momentum since it launched nearly three years ago.  The acceleration in our customer growth shows Now TV is attracting customers in a way that is complementary, not at odds, with the Sky TV service.  As with the Sky platform we are committed to constant improvement so we can produce the best experience for customers as well as developing exciting new services and features for them to enjoy."

New Sky Now TV Box 2015: Release date, price and specs

Once again based on a Roku-player, the new Sky Now TV Box for 2015 will be available in August and will cost just £14.99. The new box includes an Ethernet port instead of just Wi-Fi and a processor that is five times faster. Roku said while it's Roku-powered the new Now TV Box isn't like-for-like with any of its range of streamers - the Roku 2 looks to be the closest match.

There are also changes to the user interface which will be rolled out across Now TV devices over the next few months. It will supposedly make it easier for customers to find the channels and content they want. Sky also said more updates will come later this year with a better search facility, the ability to play the next episode and tag favourites.

Sky Sports Month Pass: Release date and price

As well as the new media streaming box, Sky has announced the Sky Sports Month Pass which is pretty much what you'd expect it to be. Instead of buying a 24-hour pass on Now TV to access all seven Sky Sports Channels, you can pay for an entire month of access at a time.

Sky said the Sky Sports Month Pass will arrive in time for the new football season and will cost £31.99 with no commitment or required subscription. You'll still be able to get the Day Pass for £6.99 and a Week Pass for £10.99. This means the new Month Pass is the best value for money way of watching Sky Sports on Now TV.
