Asus ZenWatch: Release date and price

There's no specific release date for the ZenWatch yet but it will hit the shops before Christmas and will set you back 'under £199' making it possibly more expensive than the LG and Samsung options.

It seems that price promise is correct as the ZenWatch is available to pre-order at Expansys for £159 matching the LG G Watch. This makes it cheaper than key rivals, the G Watch R and Moto 360 but Asus has warned us that this is not an official price so stayed tuned for further details.

Asus ZenWatch: Specs and features

Similar to other Android Wear smartwatches, the ZenWatch has a 1.63in screen with a 320 x 320 resolution – it's AMOLED with Gorilla Glass 3 upfront. However, the display is curved creating a '2.5D effect'. In keeping with rivals, there's a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 4GB of storage and 512MB of RAM.

The design is stainless steel and a brown leather strap with a quick-release clasp is included, although you can change it for any 22mm strap.
