Asus has launched a 17in laptop with a built-in Blu-ray optical drive and a whole terabyte of storage.

The Asus M70 multimedia laptop has a 17in widescreen display that is capable of handling high-definition video. For this purpose, Asus has fitted the M70 laptop with a Blu-Ray optical drive.

The M70 laptop runs a 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 T9300 processor and comes with Windows Vista Ultimate. The Blu-ray DVD optical drive is paired with a 1GB ATI HD3650 graphics card and four Altec Lansing speakers, to maximise the viewing pleasure.

The 1TB hard disk drive is capable of storing up hundreds of movies, music files and pictures, and the integrated TV tuner means the laptop can also be used to watch TV. The M70 comes with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and has a 1.3Mp webcam.

The laptop's dual-mode multimedia touchpad can be used to play, pause, fast forward and rewind multimedia content as well as doing duty as a mouse pad.

Asus is also offering purchasers of the M70 a free Blu-Ray copy of Batman Begins until the 15th August 2008. The M70 is available from and priced at £1,599.
