The Sandisk Sansa Fuze is due for an imminent UK launch. The portable music and video player launched in the US last month and is now set for a European rollout.
When we spoke to Sandisk last week, they confirmed a UK launch for the nano-baiting Fuze MP3 player and suggested we'd be able to get hold of one in a couple of weeks. Available from May, the compact music player will come in black, silver, blue, pink or red and will offer an FM tuner in addition to the audio and video functions found on Apple's flash-based player.
While UK punters won’t be able to make use of the Rhapsody subscription service US customers can use to load up their 2GB, 4GB or 8GB Fuzes, we expect the Audible book service and at least one online media store to be onboard by the time Sandisk puts the Fuze onsale in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
A 1.9in colour screen displays photos, videos and menu items (WMA, WAV, MP3 and Mpeg4 being the supported formats) and there’s a voice recorder built-in.
Memory can be expanded via a microSD card – not much of a surprise given that Sandisk's business is built on flash memory.
