Samsung has finally spilled the beans on how much it will cost to get hold of its frankly quite gorgeous YP-P3 touchscreen music player.
The 8GB version will go onsale for £129 in two weeks time. This means it undercuts the 8GB Apple iPod touch by quite some margin. Samsung says the 16GB model will cost £179.
The Samsung P3 was one of the most compelling pieces of gadgetry unveiled at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month.
Samsung's P3 player has a 3in WQVGA widescreen display in the fast-becoming-standard 16:9 format - ideal for viewing videos, in other words. It's a haptic EmoTure device, which means the P3 shudders when you press its buttons.
As well as offering a hotkey for the usual set of playlists and the ability to tag tracks as favourites for easier call-up, the P3 has a feature that fast-forwards through a track or album in response to a firm virtual button press.
Samsung will launch versions of the P3 player in capacities from 4GB to 32GB.
