Altec Lansing has created its first digital audio system for the iPhone. The T612 features Apple's Universal Dock, which allows users play music from an iPhone through its speakers.

If a call comes in while music is playing, the music is paused leaving the iPhone free to be answered, either by removing it from the dock or using the speakerphone function. Once the call is completed, the music resumes playing the same song in the same place. The T612 also features internal GSM shielding to keep its speakers from picking up potential intermittent noises emitted by the iPhone or other mobile devices.

A standard auxiliary-in jack can be found at the rear of the T612 so it can be connected to MP3 players and audio devices while a wireless remote allows users to pause, play, skip and shuffle songs as well as control the bass, treble, volume and power. The T612 will be available in the UK from April and costs £139 inc VAT.
