How to bet on Royal Ascot 2017 online

There are numerous websites that will allow you to place a bet on the Royal Ascot 2017. We're using Ladbrokes here, and all are much the same, but once you've picked your horse you are best off selecting the site that offers the best odds.

You will need to create an account, so head to ladbrokes.com and click the green Join Now button at the top right corner of the web page.

Now enter your name, DOB, address, a username and password, and specify a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit. Tick the box to confirm the T&Cs and that you are over 18, then click Create Account.

You will then be asked to add a card to your account, or you can use PayPal if you prefer. Enter your details and click Add Card.

On the next screen enter your security code (the final three numbers printed on the signature strip on the back of the card), a deposit amount, and then click Deposit.

Now you're ready to place a bet. Select the Horse racing tab on the home screen and you'll see races listed by today, tomorrow and future. Find the Royal Ascot race you want to bet on and select it.

Pick a race

For each race you'll see a list of the runners, as well as their number, current odds and other useful information.

Choose a horse by clicking on its odds, then look to your bet slip at the top right of the page. Here you can enter your stake, plus whether you want to place an each way bet. If you leave this field blank you will win only if the horse comes first, but if you check it you stand to win if your horse places. Note that betting each way doubles your total bet amount, however.

Pick a horse

When you're happy, click Place Bet. Any winnings will be automatically credited to your Ladbrokes account.
