I have a desktop pc with XP, Outlook and Norton 360. I have a networked laptop with Vista, Windows Mail and Norton 360. Occasionally, an email is received on the desktop but never appears on the laptop. The emails are from trusted sources with no attachments. I have switched off email scanning on both computers but the problem remains. Both computers are configured to leave messages on the server for 30 days.

That your settings for mail are correct, I'm afraid this is a commen problem which is usually caused by Norton.

Uninstall it and try your email again. If it works look for another antivirus programme (AVG AVAST are both free) PC tools Spyware doctor is not free but is excellent.

Be sure to enable windows firewall if you uninstall Norton.
