Hi

I have bought a new internal hard drive for my Toshiba laptop and I am comfortable with how to replace it.

What I am not sure about is how to install windows on the new hard drive as I got no windows CD when I bought the laptop. Everything was pre-installed.

So how do I make sure the new hard drive has windows as I have no CD.

Thanks

If you purchased the laptop from new you should have created a set of recovery disks these are helpful if the hard drive fails as it allows you to reinstall the OS. Look at the instruction manual if you cannot find it you should be able to download it from the Manufacturer web site.

If the old drive is still OK then clone the old drive to the new on

put new one in a caddy to do the cloning before swapping drives.

Macrium REflect Free will do the job.
