Windods home premium 64 bit

I have at present windows home premium 32 bit installed on my computer. I now want to remove it and replace with 64 bit. The two came together with the same product number, When I load 64 bit I am informed it is an not a legall copy due I suspect it is using same product number. Is there any way I can cancel the 32 bit product key and install the 64 bit legally using the same key. My other question if I may, will installing the 64 bit format the 32 bit windows and leave a clean install of the 64 bit windows. Your help gratefully appreciated. joni1924

Use the MS phone activation instead and explain what has happened if the automated version does not work.

If you want a clean install then format the drive when that part of the installation procedure is reached
