When I responded to the poll

about upgrading to Vista by ticking "Will wait for my next PC" I imagined that it would be a while before that happened.

But Kev was so sorry for me struggling on with my slow old workhorse that he gave me a shiny new PC for my birthday today.

So I'm running Vista a lot sooner than I expected.

What a nice birthday gift! Enjoy Vista.

Welcome to the dark side of the force!

If you start to install additional programs do so one by one and test completely. It's the safer route.

Alternatively you could visit this link click here which includes a list of whats compatible and whats not.

On both counts.

Kate - I will. Quite nice to be the first person at work to get it :-)

anskyber - so far I've only installed Firefox and Thunderbird and all is well with them. Not sure what to try next.

keatesy - Thanks for the link, it will prove very useful.

FE - thanks :-)

As the poll is still running can you change one vote from "Will wait.." to "Already using Vista"?

Unfortunately not, but the way it's looking at the moment means it wouldn't really make any difference.
