Can anyone help? For no apparent reason Vista won't shut down. Whether I try shut down from start menu, power button from start menu, or sleep, Vista shuts down and starts up again straight away. The only way I can shut down is via power switch.I haven't installed anything new (other than Microsoft updates)and I haven't got a clue what to do. PC is Zoostorm 45CMX VP Series M3 running Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

i would uninstall the recent updates then if that solves it reinstall them one by one to find the problem update.

This click here cured the same problem I had on Dell Vista laptop.

Or it may have been this one click here (I had them both bookmarked).

Tried disabling wake from mouse but no joy so I'm still working through updates.

There were other items in Device Manager that are allowed to wake the computer. Might be worth going through them all an turning off all off them.

Sorry about spelling in last post - must proof read! Have you tried the work around in my post of 21:25?

Tried both work arounds and switched off everything in Device Manager that can wake computer but still no luck. Don't have a clue what to try next.
