Vista to Vista Ultimate upgrade problem

I recently purchased a Packard Bell computer preloaded with Vista Home Premium. I want to upgrade to Ultimate but when I try, it will not let me upgrade only install a clean version. The program says I need SP1 on my current version but when I go to Update this SP is not shown, so I presume it is already on there. Any solutions out there???

SP1 is also supposed to be on the upgrade disc but appears to be impossible to access independantly

Cheers

You can install SP1 for Vista from:

BUT: Packard Bell machines have unique way's of "Tatooing" hard drives....(it's to ensure that they are not easily user configurable / upgradeable)

Try the upgrade, but backup all crticial data first.

If the upgrade goes ok, (DON'T turn off your machine during the process, it can take a while)

Then try upgrading to Premium.
