Vista to Vista Printer problem

  tufti 16:21 10 Apr 2007

I have a PC with Vista Premium and a deskjet printer attached.
I also have a laptop which has Vista Premium connected wirelessly to a Netgear router.
Both connect to the Internet OK.
When I try to add the PC printer to the laptop by clicking on network and choosing the PC I get a message :

\\name is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource.
Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permisions.

I am the only user on both and the computers have beenset up identically as far as I can see.

On the PC I can look at and retrieve files from the laptop public folders.

Strange thing is if I go back to XP on the laptop using Acronis True Image the printer works perfectly on both computers.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I ended up doing an upgrade with my express upgrade disk which kept all my files and took about an hour and a half.

After which the network problem was solved. Both computers seeing and connecting to each other, including the printer.
