Vista search

Is there any way that you can clear out results from the Vista search box? When i start to type it brings up long deleted e-mails, when i try to delete/remove them from the list i get something like "cannot delete whatever as the link has been deleted etc."

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried CCleaner?

tullie, i've got ccleaner. It doesn't clear it. Thanks anyway.

These instructions are from the Vista help files not sure if its what you are looking for.

Clear the Run history on the Start menu

Windows saves a history of the file names, programs, and locations you type in the Run dialog box. You can delete this history, which you might want to do if you're using a shared or public computer.

Click to open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties.

Click the Start Menu tab, and then, under Privacy, clear the Store and display a list of recently opened programs check box.

To clarify above rht click/properties/start menue/ customise, scroll down and untick search favourites and history.

Vista keeps wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much private stuff stored on your pc. Take Shadowcopies!!! Thats one reason id never use Vista out of maybe 20.0000.

Too important eh? What a load of self importance. By the way have you noticed how sites have changed recently asking for personal details if you want to view adult rated vids? Not only pr0n but violence and so forth?

'one reason id never use Vista'

Windows 7 then?

May be not...umm.. Apple or maybe Linux...??

  rdave13 02:18 25 May 2008

The sites asking if you want to view adult stuff, i guess you mean softarchive, i voted not to show it coz i hate pron. Love women but hate that stuff. !!
