Vista & limewire

When I had XP Pro, Limewire worked perfectly - Now that I have Vista, Limewire doesn't work - lol. Same Zone Alarm, same Limewire, it installs O.K. but it just won't connect to the internet - Anyone help please.

Right click on the Limewire Icon on you desktop, click "Properties", go to the tab "Compatibility", check the box, "Run this program in Compatibility mode for:" and make sure it says "Windows XP (Service Pack 2"

PS I do not have limewire myself but this solution has worked for some.

Sinbads - Thank you but I had tried Frostwire with the same results.
Anskyber - I will try that - thank you.

Mmm - back to the drawing board - That didn't work

Are you running McAfee security?

No - I use Zone Alarm firewall and AVG anti-virus. Zone Alarm is configured to accept Limewire

The only way to get limewire to connect to the network is to disable the windows firewall and or third party firewalls. On Vista I have the windows firewall disabled and it connects when it didn't used to.

Mmm - Not a good idea - but I tried it - I still can't get Limewire to work - Thanks anyway

Try reinstalling your limewire if that doesn't work then your firewall /router / security settings are preventing you connecting.
