Vista and IE7 Problem?

  prima12 13:27 05 Aug 2007

Hi all, I have a new PC:- Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.31Ghz, 2Gb of ram, nVidia GeForce 7300se, and nVidia nForce Networking Controller, and Vista Home Premium.
It started on Friday(3/8/07) when it started taking 1 minute for my home page and email to open, and has not improved since. I know that Virginmedia has had a problem over the weekend. Should I be looking for anything that may have got out of sync? Perhaps my grandson may have pressed a wrong button.
I have run it in safe mode and IE7 opens almost immediately.
I have another PC running IE6 which runs without any problems.
Do I have to run IE7 on Vista, or will IE6 run on it. (Afaid it's better the devil you know syndrome) Any pointers would be much appreciated. P.

Firstlt you could try Firefox click here

No you cannot run IE6 on Vista to my knowledge and cannot remove IE7.

Windows Mail in Vista has had some issues,i have them too.
Best thing at this stage is to sit tight and wait for Vista sp1 update.

However, try giving the system a bit of a cleanup.

ccleaner click here
Winaso click here

Winaso has a trial basis of scan and repair any ten errors at any one time, though you can rescan and repair as you like.

Ccleaner,just use the default settings.

Any further help needed with these apps, just let us know.

Can I elect to install any browser for vista, is there one that incorporates an email client as well? P.

The issues i have had with Windows Mail seem to be quite common.
To bypass this for now,i installed Incredimail as my email client within IE7.

However,if you could make Firefox your default browser with Thunderbird your email client.

Thunderbird 2 click here

Incredimail click here

Only use one email client !
