Can anyone tell me if an NVidia GeForce 6200 PCI graphics card will run Windows Vista Premium with Aero graphics?
Many Thanks

Does nobody run the upgrade advisor? click here This is a simple and quick tool that will tell you more surely than anyone here can.

So does the upgrade advisor not run or does it tell you it doesn't know? What does the upgrade advisor say?

Mine runs fine with glass enabled with the NVidia GeForce 6200 AGP card.

The upgrade advisor says the 6200 is OK but does not specify a PCI or PCI Express or AGP. At least not in a way that I understand! My I year old Dimension 3100 is stuck with a PCI slot!!

Ah I can see why you wonder now you have explained it.
I suppose it must depend on whether using a PCI slot slows the card down or not. If it doesn't and Input Overload is finding his works fine then it will be ok.
I really have no idea and can only hope that someone else knows whether a 6200 PCI card graphics card runs any slower than a 6200 AGP one.

I do have one idea. You could run a graphics test program like 3dMark and compare your 6200 card to others with a 6200 card and see if there any noticeable difference between the two.
