Vista disables my wireless

I borrowed a friends Vista CD to try it for 30 days before the Registration kicks in. I put it on the 'sacrificial' laptop. Now the laptop's built-in wireless won't work.

When I press the button to turn it on, there is no response, it doesn't search for networks. How can this be?

From a good PC simply download the latest drivers from the Internet, install them and it should work OK.

I took this up with PC World, the drivers are not yet available.

On a lighter note, when I came to Recover the PC back to XP, the Recovery DVD I had made was not recognized. I looked at it on the Desktop, Nero couldn't copy it. I tried to drag the file to the desktop, that produced errors.

So off to PCW. There it showed me up. After a chilly journey in the boot, it worked first time. I stood at the counter while it recovered. And no charge!

So if something doesn't work, put it outside for a while.
