I have a pc running Vista home premium 32 bit, It is 64 bit capable, would I have to do a clean install to upgrade to Vista 64 bit. Would I need the full retail version or an upgrade version, would OEM software work? Thanks in advance

Yes,you will need to do a clean install. If you are currently running a 32-bit version of Windows, you can only perform an upgrade to another 32-bit version of Windows.I.E xp to xp or Vista to Vista.
A full version or an OEM version will do.
