I Have seen NUAC recomended on this forum.
Has anyone else tried it?

As its from Norton I am not sure of it.

Works a treat on mine. It only pops up if a program has been altered/updated or if there is something new otherwise it rarely appears.

You could always turn UAC off altogether.
Unless you're an absolute pc newbie, why would you need to be asked if you are sure you want to do something every time?

i use it, and like it.

User Account Control in Vista is fine if you allow Vista to settle down. It will take a bit of time and once Vista reads your usage then it should be ok. Otherwise use Norton's alternative.
Not for me though.

Yes UAC settles time, but personally i like the Nortonlabs tool click here

Personal choice i guess :-)

I am not a a nubie and am annoyed by being reminded constantly that I have UAC turned off.
I will be installing NAUC tomorow.

as a footnote, i un-installed norton uac (just to check it did!) as it's a simple driver it un-installed very cleanly. i had to re-install within hour an hour of vistas pop up warnings for nothingness.
it's a very good very simple set of code that microsoft should have thrown together many months ago.
