Two layered taskbar Windows 8

Hi everyone,

I would like some help with my taskbar. I recently returned from a week-long trip and when I returned, my taskbar is showing two layers, as seen in the image attached. Not to ROWS. Two layers. The bottom layer is not useable, and does not go away after restarting the machine. I don't see any fix online about this. I have also tried restarting my modem (just to say I did it) but as I guessed, that didn't fix things.

Please advise! Thanks!

Right click the Taskbar and make sure lock the taskbar is unticked.

Now you can put your mouse pointer on the top and holding down the the left button drag the top into the bottom, then right click the Taskbar and make sure lock the taskbar is ticked.

See if that works.
