Taskbar grouping - Customisable?

  HappyTrucker 00:21 01 Apr 2007

Can the taskbar grouping be set to group as soon as more than ONE instance of a program is running. The bar gets a bit full very quickly. They're grouping at 7 instances right now. A bit too many really.

Just like a faulty car - I post the question, then find an answer on the Internet. A simple addition of a registry DWORD and my taskbar is now grouping as soon as 2 windows of an application open up.

Same fix as for XP actually, so this may have been in the wrong section :o(

Glad you found your answer there HappyTrucker. Any chance of posting the link to the solution, I know I would find it handy, and I'm sure others would too.
Thanks, :)

Damn it. Knew I'd forgotten SOMETHING. The link fr the info is here: click here

Basically run regedit and go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced
Create a new DWORD a set the value to the number of intances you want open before grouping begins. You'll have to log of/on or restart before it takes effect.
