sp1 installed ot not?

I have been away since January. Windows update is set to automatically download updates. How do I know if SP1 is installed? It does not show up when I check for updates. Has it installed without any outside input?

The instalation requires some user input, it can't have happened without your knowledge.

Thanks Mr M. My Windows update site says the system is up to date. Is there another site where I can download SP1 (as it isn't showing as an available update)

I would advise against getting a download for SP1.

If Windows Update doesn't offer it your PC isn't ready yet and if you try and force the issue by installing a 'fits all' version you are virtually guaranteed problems.

There are still a number of drivers that conflict with SP1 and Microsoft and the driver companies are working on it.

Start orb, search/run box, type

press return

I would advise the same as Pine Man as you won't have long to wait and you will most certainly have incompatible drivers if windows update is not offering SP1.

Right click Computer on the desktop, select Properties. If SP1 has been installed it will be shown under View Basic Information about your Computer.

thanks for all the info. It certainly seems that SP1 is not on board.
Is there any way of finding out which are the incompatible drivers?
