Slow Boot Up for Vista Laptop

  mike1967 13:25 23 Feb 2008

Anyone got any ideas why a 2 month old Vista Laptop would take around five mins for an inital boot up

Specs are Centrino Duo Core processor with 2 GiG RAM

It does have a problem with its battery which doesn't charge(to be replaced under warranty) but I'm sure this is not the problem

I've checked procces running with mine bought around the same time and they are near identicle

Must add this is my 16 yo daughters Laptop so no idea if she has done something.

Also fully protected by McAfee, with all latest Vista Updates

Any ideas

To see what is loading at startup:

start > run > type "msconfig" (no Quotes) and click the startup tab....don't make changes here unless you are sure of what your taking out.
