There used to be a program for removing the 'shortcut' arrows from desktop icons in XP. Does anyone know of such a program to remove them in Vista?I have tried Windows Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover, aka FxVisor, but it won't work on my PC.Any others out there?
"TweakVI" will remove them - click here
Thanks for you very quick response.Have you actually used it as I believe there were some horrendous problems a few months back with this prog and Vista?
Yes, I used it primarily to remove the shortcut overlays and haven't had any problems with it.
Good enough for me!
The free version doesn't remove overlays!!
Try this one, not used it myself;click here
I have used the FXVisor programme on two machines with no problems at all.
brundle - This is just a couple of links to TweakVI and FxVisor. I've tried both but no go.SteveWH - I have tried this several times and cannot get it to work at all.Maybe the overlay arrows aren't so bad after all :-)

Maybe I had a newer version - it didn't look like yours.I'll download it again and see what happens.
