Any clues? What are you looking for?

My box included a DVD and a simple (a few pages) instruction booklet.

From what I can gather the Retail Box is more a title than anything. And a nice big shiny box.

It seems that the retail box contains the OS disc, and a very brief manual. The main thing of a Retail Box though is that it contains a RETAIL BOX version of Vista (as daft as that sounds) as opposed to the OEM version. Essentially making a lot easier to replace your PC and reactivate your OS. The strict letter of the Vista licencing basically says that an OEM copy installed on a PC dies with the PC.

Now, although that's always been the case really, they've been very lenient with other OSes regarding reactivation. The new terms of the Vista OEMs is supposed to be a strict 1 OEM copy on 1 PC - ever. Although according to posts in here some people are reporting a slightly more lenient application of the licencing terms when calling Microsoft.
