ram and vista

just instaled 4 gb ram on a gigabyte vm9oom motherboard and in performance on vista its only showing 3 gb...any ideas what iam doing wrong,its the correct ram and ive unplugged and tested them in the uasual way.

Vista 32bit has a 4 Gig maximum capacity of installed memory. That's all installed memory so if your video card has memory, typically 256 MB then it will be deducted from the 4gig allowance.
