Didn't want to add to the original thread in case people thought it was a Lazarus post, but I still have my problem.

Further update following release of retail version as promised.

In brief I have a problem with intermittent hanging using Win 7.

Definitely Win 7 related - about two weeks before the retail version was released I re-installed XP and the system remained perfectly stable.

It also appeared on a totally "naked" installation i.e. Windows 7 and nothing else.

Any further ideas?

It's now becoming quite annoying!

It sounds like it could a graphics driver problem.

What is the card and what driver is installed?

Never thought of the graphics card.

I'm using a Radion X 300 SE, Driver version 8.56.1.15 which is the latest.

Not state of the art, but I only do a bit of photo editing now and again so should be perfectly adequate.

I might try a roll back to an XP driver.

Final update, just for the record.

Finally resolved - it was the BIOS!

An updated BIOS cured it.
