Hi all,

I have recently been recived BSOD errors after installing a new HDD. I used the same SATA ports as the old HDD (which failed). The drives are in ACHI mode. I also stil lrecieve this error with the new HDD unplugged.

The new HDD is a Seagate 2TB BARRACUDA 3.5" SATA-III Hard Drive - 7200RPM 64MB Cache and the old Samsung F3 HD103SJ 1TB internal Hard Drive SATAII 32MB Cache 7200RPM.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? If so do you still get the blue screens? If you can get into safe mode try running chkdsk /f from a command prompt.

Are you sure it is not a memory problem? It sounds as if it could be as you say that you get a similar message with the new HDD unplugged. Try removing each memory stick in turn and re-booting or run the free version of Memtest

I will unplug the memory in turns, I took out 2x4GB at the moment and will take out the next 2 should it crash again.

I have uploaded the dumps should they be required. click here
