Losing WIFI connection while loading, takes ages to get it back again

I'm running windows 8.1 on a HP computer.

When trying to connect to any WIFI network, my computer has a hard time finding the network i'm looking for, but eventually after a few minutes it does find the network. Than I enter the password and press connect and it doen't connect most of the times: "cannot connect to the network". But sometimes it does work for some reason. It's pretty random! Usually it takes me between 5 - 15 minutes to connect to the internet. The frustrating thing is that I know it will work in the end but I don't know when it will work. With my mobile phone I can connect to all the networks I want instantaneously.

I need some help. I have no idea why it takes my computer so long to find the network and to connect with them.

Thank you so much

open network and sharing center change adapter settings and check there after goto manage wireless networks and check if that not worked click on computers and select manage option goto device manager-->network adapters--->properties---.device status--->enable it
