Local Security Policy

I'm using Home Premium. It seems to have disappeared. There's no link under Administrative Tools and typing 'gpedit.msc' into the Run box produces no results. Can anyone help please?

It's not there in Home Prem.

What are you wanting to do as it probably could be done via the registry.

Thanks for your reply. I'd like to change password settings ie. maximum character length/complexity/maximum number of days before expiration etc.

The Security Policy always used to be present in XP Media Centre, so I just assumed it would be in Vista's equivalent.

Sorry, forgot all about it.

If those can be done via the registry then google does not reveal too much...but I'm sure it can be done.

It's, as suggested, not in Home Premium.

It can be done though the Net Accounts command.

From a command prompt netaccounts/maxpwage:21 will for example set the maximum password age to 21 days.

Thanks - it's a good job I know how to use the command prompt!
