library problem

  kimtrnc 05:25 19 Jan 2010

I know how to set up a new library, but I am then unable to insert anything but folders. Is there a way that I can open a library, eg "work" or "shopping lists" and then add files, rather than folders to it?
I am sure there is a SIMPLE answer for this seemingly SIMPLE problem, but this SIMPLE me can't find it!

I don't think it is possible to do what you want because, as far as I can make out, a library isn't a 'storage' folder it merely gathers together and displays other 'storage' folders.

Libraries don't actually exist as such. If you look in Windows7/users you will see all of the files and folders that can be accessed via libraries but NOT libraries itself.

Solved the problem by putting all the required files into a new folder and then into library. I don't know whether the actual files are in the folder or just a link, but it's academic, as I can run the files from there, which was all that I wanted
