Java update problem - Windows 7 64bit

  Chris Webster 20:04 06 Mar 2010

Windows 7 64 bit.

My current version of Java is Version 6 Update 14.

I am trying to update it to Version 6 Update 17. It downloads and seems to install but when I look at Java in control panel it still says the version is V6 Update 14.

Regards, Chris.

I would uninstall it, reboot and then download the latest update which I believe is 18. Works fine on my Win 7 Professional x64.

what is the difference between the too?

Would I need the x32 java or the x64?

Sorry, I forgot to tick this as resolved.

I have now updated both 32 and 64 bit versions of Java.

Regards, Chris.
