I use mozilla thunderbird for email, when I get a pdf attached it trys to open in word

When I get a pdf attached to an email it trys to open in word and not in adobe, any ideas??

Have you checked default programs to make sure a .pdf file is set to open with a PDF reader on your machine? Also, have you got a PDF reader on your computer e.g. Adobe Reader?
