Over a year ago I bought a new computer with vista home premium pre-installed , I used it for a few months but reverted back to XP.
My comp didnt come with a vista DVD , just a hidden recovery partition , this was wiped when I installed XP.
Anyway... I installed vista ok but I didnt see an option to format the drive prior to installation , I ended up with C:Windows.old , which I deleted .. but ... I want to have a fresh install of vista ...
How do I go about formatting the drive with the vista dvd ? ( by the way , I logged into microsofts vista forum asking if I could buy vista on dvd without lisence but was to that wasnt an option and to download the dvd as the dvd is just a trial version of windows and to use my own serial to activate , which I did)
When one boots from the DVD, the sequence is loading files, key in Regional Settings (Language, Time/Currency, Keyboard), choose partition, then Drive Options Advanced which allows deleting/formatting of partitions.
