Install SP1 if you can, which fixes this fault.

Just realised you have got two posts with a similar problem.

Here is a link to SP1 click here

My PC didn't like SP1 so I had to uninstall it but lots of others found it solved all of their problems.

If you have not yet started to install it the best way is to disconnect from the internet and disable all of your security software including firewall before the installation.

Which software are you using to unzip?I assume it's Winrar, which i use.
Also,if you have only 1 gig of ram with Vista, things do tend to run very slowly.
I suggest shutting down all programmes you don't use and disable a lot of things on start up.
Also if you shut down UAC whilst trying to unzip,it can have a dramatic improvement as this tends to slow the process.

the de-frag, full back up. firewall, uac and memory usage could be open to a few questions also.
not from me ofc:)

but on trying to extract as it starts it then says there is a file already with that name and will go no further - it has just put that file there -
have unzipped it on my XP PC using right click method on to memory stick and copied the folder to Vista and it works fine -but why Vista (now with SP1 on) cannot handle this simple task

till the next time i'll tick resolved ;(
