i have seen this before but forgot how to do it, my pc keeps memory testing at start up which is a total pain, i know its something to do with bios but cant remember what.thanks in advance

Do you mean the quick BIOS check/count of RAM or the Vista memory diagnostics tool?

sorry, it is the bios count of ram not the vista

To be honest with you I wouldn't remove the check/count. It doesn't take long and it keeps you abreast of any RAM problems that may be developing.

If you are adamant you want to change it, go to the BIOS after switching on by tapping your Set Up key (if you don’t know what it is, alternately tap the most-widely used keys: Del, F1 and F2.

Once you’ve entered the BIOS look for memory checking or similar wording. It’s not an option on all motherboards but if it is, set it to Disable, Save and Exit. You may also wish to disable Floppy Disk access as well, which will save a few milliseconds.
