Google Home Page - help ?

  Paul33 10:00 30 Dec 2013

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum !

I have windows 7 and IE11 and just recently the Google Home Page keeps throwing up the blue-bar at the top asking "Get to Google faster. Update your default search engine - SURE - NO THANKS" plus the "Install Google Chrome" box on the right.

Google is already my default search engine and I have cookies enabled and I do not want Chrome but no matter what I do, these two nags return every time I hit the HOME icon to get back to the Google Home Page.

I have even tried removing Google as default and re-establishing it via the blue-bar but still it returns whenever I go back !

Its as though it is suddenly incapable of remembering the choices that I have made ..... a cookie issue ?

Anybody have any solutions ?

You say this happened 'just recently', so try a System Restore back to before this started!
