There are some that say that the Vista firewall is ok,and thats all they use,and an anti virus of course. You may get for and against this.

hi,the windows firewall in "vista",is BETTER than xp, vista,s firewall can be tweeked to monitor both inbound and outbound ok.

control panal
system and maintanance
administrative tools
find."windows firewall with advanced security"
double click on it
if user accound controle asks ,agree,
windows firewall properties
(under public profile tab)
open dropdown menue next to outbound connections
and change to block,
click ok to confirm
close the box and advanced security
hope this helps, only only comment i would make is
use "avast" instead of "avg" ok

I have used Vista's firewall since getting my PC in Feb 2008. I have had no problems with it and I find it much better than XP's firewall. I use Avira free anti virus for my anti virus protection.
