firefox plug ins

hi, i have firefox on this pc, it works fine but some sites say 'ff needs additional plug ins' or something like that. if i click install it downloads adobe flash but installation fails, anu ideas how to get ff running fully? in ie7 and add/remove programs i have adobe flash player active x and shockwave player. ie7 works fully but ff doesnt!

It took me a few attempts to get Firefox to accept the flash installation ..........but eventually it decided to play nice and now works correctly.

That was earlier today on VISTA ultimate, which I installed as a dual boot with my XP Pro yesterday.

sorted it, kate download manually to desktop right click run as admin.

1) open ff goto a page that needs plug in
2) click install plug in
3) when you get failed message click manual install
4) ff will download to desktop
5) you must now close ff (INC DOWNLOAD BOX)
6) right click on new adobe desktop icon
7) run as admistrator.


this maybe a lot simpler with uac off!
