Dual boot w7 32bit and 64bit

I have installed w7 64bit to take advantaqe of the 4GB ram. My scanner and a few progs I use do not work even with compatability mode. On another pc with w7 32bit the scanner and progs work. Would it be possible to install both W7 32bit and 64bit on the same pc either on different partitions or hard drives and use either? If this is not possible and I have to use just 32bit is there a simple way of converting from 64bit to 32bit without totally removing the installation?

You must completely reinstall Windows when going from 64 to 32 bit.
As for dual booting Win 7-32 and 64,shouldn't be a problem, click here

I now have W7 64 bit (before had XP) . I found my scanner , used in Photoshop CS4, would not use the Twain drivers in 64 bit, but Photoshop installed both the 32 and 64 bit versions and the 32 bit version uses the scanner fine(even though the PC only has the 64 bit version of Windows 7). What scanner do you have, and what software do you use for scanning?
