complete restore

hi, i currently have no need to do a complete restore, however i had a problem with 32 bit vista and was curious to see if i had it on 64 bit. i have!
im guessing it's a driver issue perhaps?
this is what happens,
1x 80 gb raptor (c)
2x 500 gb wc (d & e)
1x 1gb ram drive (z)
1x 1tb external (g) (my back ups)

the restore option only works with the 'restore system disk only' option, even though 1 have ticked boxes d & e when making the back up.
if i tick format and restore all disks, it starts and gives me a "unable to perform, 1 or more drives are not large enough to complete"
drives are sata, m/s drivers.
i am guessing i need to load drivers from dvd first?
hope this makes sense, any advice gratefully recieved.

it seems to work from dvd back ups, it seems to be trying to write from drive e even though vista states drive g, i'll try swapping my bios settings about a bit but this looks very much like a bug as it's done it with 3 different pc configurations.
would be nice to find, one, just one feature you can trust/ have confidence in without paying for 3rd parties to do the job with performance and stability.
