Changing font color

I tried personalizing the font color on the deshtop, but no luck, so if i have a white background pic, i cant see anything, how do i change the color?

Try this free program. ActivIcons 3.37; click here . It's for xp but works in vista to change the icon text colour.
In the ActivIcon control panel click on 'interface' in the left pane. You can change the desktop icon text colour there.
Click the box for 'place ActivIcon on system tray at startup'
Next, top of left pane click on options and tick 'run then exit'.
