Change W7 32 to 64 bit

Is it possible to change from 32 bit to 64 bit if already installed?

No, you will have to install the 64BIt version.

I agree with Chronus, but would also like to add that if you have programmes that were designed to run in 32 bit. You should be aware that they either might not run at all in 64 bit or not very well. Even if you are running them in compatibility mode, the problem can be with the drivers. As you can't use 32 bit drivers with 64 bit.

I advise getting a new HDD and installing your 64bit on that. You can use the same Product Key.

This has the advantage of being able to go back to 32bit simply by swapping the HDD's over. And will save you a lot of time and grief.

Unless you have more than 4GB of memory I doubt you would benefit from upgrading to the 64bit OS
