Boot from Vista dvd?

I have an intermitant problem when starting vista ultimate,the control panel flashes up and then dissapears,also the printer doesn't work or the welcome centre.I've had advice to go Start type services.msc and do the buisness there ,and it does work,but next time i reboot i can get the same problems again.I click here had this reply to my post but i cat seem to boot from the dvd,can you tell me how to do this so i can attempt a Startup Repair,thankyoou.

You need to set your systems BIOS to boot from dvd.

To do this:

Press the DEL key on boot up

Locate the entry which relates to "First Boot Device"

Set to DVD

Re-boot with DVD in drive

Do your repair, and then set the BIOS back as it was.
