Hi all - I wonder if you can help me.

I'm applying for a job in Gibraltar and was wondering if I needed a visa or work permit to take up employment there if I have a UK passport?

Thanks,

Gibraltar is a member of the EU.

All the Treaty provisions on the free movement of capital, services and persons apply to Gibraltar.

If you are British you do not need a work permit or visa, contrary to Laurie53 Gib is not part of the EU.

The best part about working in Gib is the cheap booze and ciggies.

And if you want to live even cheaper get your accommodation across the border in La Linnea.

Good luck hope you enjoy it their.

Think again...Gibraltar is a part of the European Union, having joined under the British Treaty of Accession (1973), with exemption from some areas such as the Customs Union and Common Agricultural Policy...Unless, of course wikipedia is wrong.

"Gibraltar entered the EU together with the United Kingdom upon its accession in 1973"

My apologies. Both my my quotes, the original and the one above, are from the Gibraltar Government website.

I thought that they would know if they were in or out, but, according to you, apparently not.
