What way do we turn?

It definitely is to keep people off the road. Can't use public transport- i.e. trains, the fares are going sky-high. Get to the town/city you work, need to use Bus Service, and those fares also go up at least 3 times a year. Use coach service - it takes ages.
IT JUST SEEMS WE ALL NEED TO HAVE A JOB IN OUR OWN VICINITY. OTHERWISE - WHICH WAY DO WE TURN?? WHO DO WE COMPLAIN?? PENNY WISE & POUND FOOLISH.

ALL THE AUTHORITIES PROMISE A LOT, & WHAT DO THEY DELIVER?

I used to live in a large city on the south coast. Each morning, there were traffic jams with all the outsiders coming into town to work; and loads of traffic jams going out of town when the city dwellers went off to their jobs elsewhere.

Then in the evening, the flows were reversed.

Hmmm... if they swapped jobs - or houses - with each other, would that cut down on the jams?

Probably have a fuel surcharge slapped on it.
