What happens to the shoes,boots,trainers...

  Aitchbee 22:35 27 Mar 2011

That are thrown by unhappy citizens to show their disgust at authority they are not happy with; as seen on national ITV news 9.00pm Sunday.
( i have not mentioned high-heel stillettos)
-they might be too light-weight-
I've got a bag of old shoes, boots, trainers that i was going to throw out.
Maybe these people in foreign lands would be in need of them.
Or I could set up a target in my back (communal)space. It might become popular.

Someone clears them up, I expect.

  Dragon_Heart 00:53 28 Mar 2011

.... pick them up and then they do a Prince Cinders type thing.

  Dragon_Heart 00:54 28 Mar 2011

Good job the forum members can't do that huh FE ?

Whatever do you mean by that comment...?
AitchBEE, don't you get a bag, now and again, to place such items for charity? Get someone you know in the locality to collect pairs, obviously, then send your charity bags to them. Simples.

Can we please have the tinned tomato thread back?

  Quickbeam 07:57 28 Mar 2011

That got locked a while back.

In this country we throw old shoes at mewing ally cats after midnight, then they're collected by the poor people that also live in alley ways that couldn't otherwise afford shoes.

Oh what rot, the poor in this country only wear new and very expensive brands of trainer...

I often wonder who is responsible for all the (usually) trainers I see hanging from telephone wires. There are at least 4 pairs hanging from a wire as I walk into town.Does BT just collect them eventually & send them to a charity?

  canarieslover 10:02 28 Mar 2011

I think they stay there until the laces rot and gravity pulls them back down to earth. There are a pair hung over the lines that I pass quite regularly and they have been there over a year so I don't think that BT worry about removing them.

in exactly the way I thought it would, so.....

that's enough old shoes for now.

This thread is now locked and can not be replied to.
