  wolfie3000 05:55 05 May 2006

Well the question should be what is excell used for i have it and to my knowledge never used it ever,

I know my brother uses it for work but i cant see what you got to do with it,

Its a mystery to me,

All those little boxes that you can put numbers and letters in who does it work as i dont have a clue,

So what is it and what practical uses does it have?

I'm off to work in a few mins, but I'm sure VoG will be happy to explain. He's the resident expert!

I use Spreadsheets to budget my money and use it to add up my wage, so I'd know if my boss underpaid me, that's it really for me.

I learned how to use them at school, I only remember the basic stuff now.

I use pencil and paper... I can have it all done in the time it takes to switch on the PC.

...but I'm of an age when a calculator was a set of "Napier Tables".

I have always wondered what Excel is and what you do with it, come to think of it I've never used Powerpoint either,

Are we just two oddballs or has anyone else never used them either?

I use it a lot as part of my job (work in accounts), as for Powerpoint, I used that at University for presentations

Love excel!
Learnt to use it at work but use it at home alot too - mainly for anything mathematical/financial - as quick as a calculator but you have a record of your calculations!
And I do like to see a pretty graph!

Powerpoint the same - used it at work, now use it at home a lot just as a drawing tool because I'm so familiar with where all the tools are on it.
